Audi A4 (with a convertible option)
The A4 Cabriolet has long been an icon, with celebrities and even royalty driving it over the years. The latest model is something of a star too, with elegant lines blending with Audi's trademark grille. The interior is also a treat. It's based on the A4 layout but with unique features including triple chrome air vents, and is finished to a similarly outstanding standard.
0-60 mph: 9.4 Seconds
Audi RS4 (with a convertible option)
From the front, the RS4 is really aggressive, yet still follows the Audi family design. Worthy of particular mention are the xenon front lights with their circular reflectors - they're particularly bright and are more than a match for the performance of the RS4. Other design highlights from the front include the shark-like spoiler gills which are well-integrated into the bumper. At the back, things are more restrained, just the badging and wider track giving a clue to 400+bhp.
0-60 mph: 4.9 Seconds
Audi Q7
All Audi Q7 models come with air suspension as standard, letting the driver choose between comfort and sports settings. You can even lower the car when loading the boot, or raise it for off-road work. It rides comfortably, soaking up the worst road scars, yet the Audi Q7 corners with poise. Furthermore, at all speeds, the Audi Q7 is quiet. Passengers will rarely be bothered by engine, wind or road noise, making this a very relaxing way to travel. It's as refined as many executive cars.
0-60 mph: 10 Seconds
BMW M3 (with a convertible option)
The 4-litre monster produces 420bhp and 295 lb/ft of pulling power enabling a 0-62mph (100kph) dash of just 4.8 seconds. As with previous M3s, the latest model, codenamed E92 offers serious, race-bred performance and everyday practicality. BMWs new M3 is an outrageous and seriously wicked car; a four-seater coupe that thinks it's a supercar. it's a beast quite capable of twitching nervously if you push it hard, but it's also surprisingly capable of being driven sedately.
0-60 mph: 4.7 Seconds
BMW M5
It is the jewel in the M5's crown and delivers sensational pace. Tractable and muscular, it sounds like a meaty V8 at low revs, but only gets into it's stride higher in the range. With the limiter not cutting in until 8,250rpm, the M5 is capable of hitting 60mph in 4.7 seconds. It accelerates as hard as most supercars and sounds better than many, too.
0-60 mph: 4.7 Seconds
BMW M6
The mighty V10 has huge thrust through the mid-range, with intoxicating acceleration – all complemented by a rumbling exhaust note. In standard mode, the unit delivers 394bhp, but one press of the unassuming Power Button on the centre console boosts this to the full 507bhp, as well as sharpening throttle response. The result is a machine which feels light and nimble, with good body control through corners.
0-60 mph: 4.7 Seconds
BMW X5
The first of the sports 4 x4s and probably still the best. Very practical and very refined, a sort of high rise 5 series. The X5 is brilliant on the road and reasonably competent off it, though you’d best not try anything too adventurous. On Tarmac, it feels so planted and sharp it's easy to forget youre in a 4x4. The ride can be firm on rough surfaces, but the optional Adaptive Drive set-up corrects that while making the car even more stable through corners.
0-60 mph: 8.3 Seconds
Mercedes Benz C Class
Under it's stylish skin, the C-Class retains it's traditional front-engined, rear-wheel-drive layout, and every variant now gets adaptive dampers all-round. The results are impressive. Overall, the C-Class feels secure through fast corners and offers loads of agility. The best news is that, while in normal mode, the new dampers provide a brilliant ride, which soaks up bumps and enables the car to float over them with ease.
0-60 mph: 8.5 Seconds
Mercedes Benz E Class
The E-Class's aim is to deliver peerless comfort and refinement. In that regard, it's excellent. No rival rides as well on the motorway or across pitted tarmac. With elegant lines, supreme comfort and innovative technology, the E-Class is all you'd expect - and more.
0-60 mph: 9.2 Seconds
Mercedes Benz S Class
Why is the Mercedes-Benz S-Class so good? The interior, the seats, the space, the astonishing quietness at speed, the performance, the ride, the electronic controls, the hi-fi and a whole lot else besides. This is, without doubt, the finest car in the world.
0-60 mph: 7.8 Seconds
Mercedes Benz CLS
The CLS is a car of contradictions and nowhere are these more apparent than when youre seated behind the wheel. The low, laid-back driving position will come as a surprise to anyone who had this down as an E-Class with a prettier face. The high window line and low roof add to the sports car feel, as does the pronounced transmission tunnel that runs through the centre of the cabin. You feel cocooned within the car and it's an altogether different experience than you get from an E-Class. Traditional Mercedes-Benz customers may not like the restricted visibility or the more strenuous entries and exit's that result from the low-slung seats but once youre in, it’s extremely comfortable.
0-60 mph: 7.0 Seconds
Range Rover Vogue
The Range Rover Vogue adds even more luxury. The soft luxury of Oxford leather with heated front and rear seats, Cambridge leather instrument panel top, a heated leather steering wheel. DVD based navigation for both on with off-road, digital and analogue TV, and a 14-speaker, 710watt, harman/kardon LOGIC7 digital surround system are standard, as is the electric sunroof. In addition the Vogue has standard Bi-xenon lamps with integrated turning lamps.
0-60 mph: 8.7 Seconds
Range Rover Sport
Range Rover Sport is effortless on-road, legendary off-road. Every inch of it's athletic, muscular body has been designed with aerodynamics and exhilarating performance in mind. Range Rover Sport looks like it's moving even when it's standing still. A single-piece rear aluminium tailgate, rear spoiler, all-terrain sport tyres and optional 20 inch alloys further enhance it's sports tourer credentials. Range Rover Sport styling cues include the ´floating´ roof and clamshell bonnet with a sportier raked windscreen. For those who relish the drive, the HSE offers even greater levels of refinement and comfort with Park Distance Control for the front and rear.
0-60 mph: 11.9 Seconds
Range Rover Supercharged
Utilising a Supercharged 4.2 litre V8 390ps/385bhp engine, Range Rover Sport Supercharged is the best specified and most refined Range Rover Sport. It delivers a powerful drive, enhanced by Brembo front disc brakes and Adaptive Cruise control. it's super interior offers all the refinement and advanced features of the HSE plus a Personal Telephone Integration system. Distinctive design cues include a unique mesh-design front grille and power vents, and 20 inch, 10 spoke alloy wheels.
0-60 mph: 7.2 Seconds
Chrysler 300
The 218bhp unit really is very good. It is smooth, powerful and has bags of torque. Teamed up with a slick five-speed automatic box, this enables a 7.6-second 0-62mph time. Quiet, sophisticated, refined, but make no mistake, when pushed it will respond. A long hood, short deck and dramatic profile gives the Chrysler 300C it's stunning presence. The 300C marks the arrival of a dramatic new design direction that will make everything else on the road seem ordinary.
